Featuring Addison Marshall, François Sibiude & Keroshin Govender
7 November - 16 December 2017
Your love is like baaaad medicine,
Baaaad medicine is what I need.
When modern life is getting you down, the salve can only be found in the loving arms of your fellow tits.
This month, we’re dispensing some MODERN MEDICINE in an exhibition filled with fictional instruments of pleasure, pain and redemption. Contemporary complaints of the heart, mind and body are placed on the metaphorical operating table, to be examined, dissected and rebuilt for a more resilient future.
Addison Marshall cooks up a kind of ceramic cleansing ritual in our STREETSPACE that places you in a state of cool, calm reflection. His work gets a little more cocksure inside our CURIOSITY CABINET, with a collection of anatomical embroidery and other object-based wonders of the flesh. On our TAXIDERMY T.V., causes and cures for modern-day relationship troubles are explored in a beautiful, single-take short film by French filmmaker François Sibiude. And in THE SALON, South-African raised Keroshin Govender shows us how to save our souls from the toxic effects of consumerism, armed with nothing but a paintbrush and a red Mercedes.
Art is the antidote, people. Drink it down.
